Page history last edited by PBworks 13 years, 2 months ago

You Are Cordially Invited To Attend

St Heliers Heavy Horse Field Day

30-31st August 2008

St Heliers Correctional Centre, Muswellbrook

St Heliers Heavy Horse Field Day Celebrates the Heavy Horse, with draught horse events for registered Australian Draught, Shires, Percherons and Clydesdale horses, plus classes for other draught horses, registered or unregistered, plus ploughing, obstacle course, log snig, cart, led and ridden classes.

St Heliers Field Day is the largest annual gathering of draught horses in NSW and demonstates the versatility of the type of horse that was once relied upon by working men and women to fulfil locomotion on the farm and on the road where significant strength and fortitude was required to finish the days work.

The skills of handlers of working horses are less prevalent today than ever before. Whether starting out or with years of experience, young, old or somewhere in between St Heliers Field Day enables these skills to be practiced and passed on.
